8DAYS/7NIGHTS LEMOSHO ROUTE LEMOSHO ROUTE
Lemosho Route Description:
This is the longest and most remote route to Kilimanjaro. After beautiful forests and moorlands it crosses the Shira Plateau to meet up with the Machame Route. Groups may be accompanied on the first day by an armed ranger as the forests around the Lemosho Glades are rich in buffalo, elephant and other game. The South Circuit is then followed, offering superb views of the Southern Icefields, past the Barranco Hut then on to Barafu and hence the summit. Descent is by the Mweka Route.
A party wishing to ascend slowly can comfortably take 8 days on this route as described below. However the campsite at Shira Hut and at Karanga Valley could be left out by a very strong party on request. Accommodation on the mountain is in tents which the porters will pitch for you. You will need a sleeping bag, warm clothes and walking poles. This is a steep, tough trek within the limits of a fit individual used to walking in mountain areas.

A Technical route for experience climbers.

Londorosi Gate - ForestCamp {Alt.2440m}
Drive along Boma Ng’ombe to Sanya Juu and up to Londorosi gate {Alt. 2200m} registration, drive to the road near Lemosho glades and start the trek through the rain forest, for dinner and overnight at Forest Camp {Alt.2440m}

DAY 2:Forest Camp{Alt.2440m} - Shira Camp {Alt. 3700m}.
Full day trekking through Shira Caldera and desert plateau, overnight at Shira I camp {Alt. 3700m}.

DAY 3: Shira I camp {Alt. 3700m} - GM II camp {Alt.3700m
Trekking across Shira plateau, for dinner and overnight at GM II camp {Alt.3700m}

DAY 4: GM II camp {Alt.3700m - Baranco Camp
Trekking 6-7hrs through Baranco valley overnight at Baranco camp {Alt. 3940m} {But this day can also be used for altitude acclimatization}.

DAY 5:Baranco Camp - Karanga Camp {Alt. 4270m}
Climb up to Barranco wall across valleys for dinner and overnight at Karanga Camp {Alt. 4270m} DAY6: Karanga Camp {Alt. 4270m}
Day is spent for acclimatization, dinner and overnight at Karanga camp {Alt. 4270m}

DAY 7: Karanga Camp {Alt. 4270m} - Summit Uhur Peak {Alt. 5895m}
Trek to the summit Uhur Peak {Alt. 5895m} then return 12-15hrs for dinner and overnight at GM III camp {Alt.1100m}

DAY 8:Summit Uhuru Peak {Alt. 5895m} - GM III camp {Alt.1100m} -Mweka gate
Walk down across the Alpine moorland to Mweka gate say goodbye to your guide/porters, certificates award and onward transfers.

Mt.Meru Climbing & Trekking Adventure

MT. MERU in Arusha National park has an altitude of 4566m and is the second highest mountain in Tanzania. This mountain is dormant volcano and it offers a magnificent view of the imposing Mt. Kilimanjaro and the spectacular Rift Valley for visitors who climb Mt. Meru. Also the area hosts the very big variety of species of birds, both resident and migrant, the best months is September until April for the migrant birds to be seen.
